Our favorite place to stay in Rome is Locanda Navona. It's literally a stones throw from Piazza Navona and within easy walking distance to many great sites and restaurants. You can get a room there for under $100 but I'd advise calling the hotel directly as this has resulted in a better deal for us. Just go to locandanavona.com or search for them on your favorite booking app. This is not a hotel per say, but 6 very nice rooms on the 1st floor (2nd floor for Americans) of a 500 year old building. The staff there is great and the windows are very well insulated from the sounds outside.

And we love Hotel Palazzo Navona but it is pricey. Great area.

Lots of hotels fit that price point, just depends on the area you want to stay in. More hotels than people to fill them right now, so prices are good. I stayed at the Best Western Universo near the train station recently for like $85 a night, and it was just fine for our needs.

Check out The Beehive. They are near Termini and have lots of choices.
