Can anyone recommend a hotel or B&B in Florence on the street facing the Arno? Our family of four will be in Florence for two nights in August. Thank you in advance for your responses!

San Frediano Mansions (B&B) might fit the bill. I have not stayed there, but it is on my short list for next year. They have their own website, plus are listed on others. It is across the river near the 3d bridge 'down' from Ponte Vecchio, a much quieter area that near the Uffizi etc.
