We will be in Venice for 2-3 nights early June. Would require two rooms for two families. One family is 2 adults and 2 kids and the other is 2 adults and 1 kid. I have heard of the Ca Dogaressa but haven't contacted them yet. Any other suggestions? Thank you.
Look on VRBO.com for aprtments and cross-pollinate.com for hotels and B&B. I like the VRBO website for it's "just the facts" approach. I've been told getting a room with Air Con. is necessary. Many places I checked out had 3 night minimums. But with direct contact, they can be flexible. I think with the dollar so weak, maybe not so many Americans are going to Europe this summer.
Last summer we found Hotel al Piave just perfect for suite-like apartments. My married friends had a double and I had a single in one suite. There was a nice entry like an apartment. We shared a bath. It was so nice, clean and convenient. They have several suites to offer. The breakfast was one of the best we had and the location was perfect. We decided it was one of our best choices on the entire trip!!
I have stayed at both in Venice. They each have their pros and cons. I love the idea of "living" in Venice so staying in an apt brings me a step closer.
Email Denise at www.venicerentals.com She is very helpful and they have several options for size, location, and price.
