Does anyone have a recommendation for a hotel near the train station in Florence? I'd prefer a smaller hotel or b&b, moderate or above. I'll be traveling alone this time, and would like to do some day trips into Tuscan towns by train. Bonus if any hotel has something for breakfast that is gluten free (also not an egg eater), or close to a bakery or grocery where I could pick up some gluten free bread or rolls. Also, if you have recommendations for day trips by bus into the Val d'Orcia, it would be much appreciated.
We enjoyed the B&B La Stella d'Oro, it was all the reviews promised. We chose it as it's a 10-15 minute walk from Santa Maria Novella yet in an Italian feeling sector.

BnB Santa Maria Novella. 15 minute walk to the station.
We are staying at Hotel Boccaccio in early April. They have already reached out to me after booking and seem incredibly kind and helpful. They are a 10 min walk from train station and offer breakfast at a cafe next door to hotel from what I can see from reviews. We are looking forward to our short stay and pricing was very affordable.
Off topic, but please report back to us about trips to Tuscan towns by train.
Hotel il Bargellino...not far from SMN train station on Via Guelfa 87.... a quiet neighborhood, lovely hotel with an amazing terrace where you can mingle with other guests. The Marcato Centrale is close and as well as many cafes etc. You can bring wine and food back to enjoy on the terrace later...I believe the rooms have small fridge and some have doors that open up directly onto the terrace...really lovely!

It is a lovely bed and breakfast hotel directly across the street from the train station. Very clean, updated, and wonderful staff. It's located on the second floor of the McDonald's building. (Yes, that McDonald's). It has an elevator, so no worries there. It's an easy walk to all the sites, and we refer friends there all the time. No one has been disappointed and loved the location and ease to the train station.
