We are hoping to travel to Bologna in the fall of 2025. We will fly into Rome, spend a few days, then take a train to Bologna. Any suggestions for hotels near the train station? Many thanks!

But why do you want to stay near Termini? It's not the most attractive area, nor the most convenient to major sights... Can you not take a taxi to the station on your day of departure?

We've enjoyed the Hotel Aberdeen, on Via Firenze. Some of Rick's tours stay there, which is how we first encountered it. We've since stayed there several times, and have always found it safe, convenient, and comfortable.

I agree that the area near Roma Termini is not convenient to where you will probably be sightseeing. When I stay near Roma Termini for a night, it’s because I am taking the train early the next morning. When that’s the case, I like to stay at Mecenate Palace Hotel which is across the street from the basilica where the pope was just buried.
Otherwise, a hotel I like a lot is Hotel City Palazzo Dei Cardinali located between the Spanish Steps & Trevi Fountain. Just take the metro at Roma Termini to the Barberini metro stop - very easy.
