My husband and I have an 8:05am flight out of Rome - FCO airport. I was searching for a hotel near the airport, and I found "Air Rooms Rome Airport by HelloSky". Has anyone stayed there before? Would you recommend?
Thanks!

I haven’t stayed yet but booked a room for in June- my flight at 10am. Reviews on booking.com looked better than the Hilton when I read them in the fall. Would also love to hear anyones opinion.
You can’t beat Hilton for convenience. It is a solid hotel that caters to business folks and travelers. You can walk to the terminals via covered passages.
I stayed at the FCO Hilton and was happy with it. I don't think the "Air Rooms" were there in 2018. I stayed at a similar "Air Rooms" accommodation at Madrid airport, which was the only available choice right in the airport for an early flight. It was operated by "Premium TravelIer" rather than "Hello Sky." I was happy with it, though not with the limited landside dinner options in the terminal.
I don't recall what food options you'd have landside at FCO itself, but the Hilton has a restaurant and is a short walk through a covered passage from the terminal. It would be a safer bet. There are also a number of nearby hotels with shuttle service, but you might want to be right there for such an early flight.
Estella, we have stayed at the airport Hilton three+ times, and planning to stay again in October. We usually have had early flights. For my husband and me, the convenience is worth so much. We usually walk over from rental car return (a five minute walk from the airport), but have their shuttle take us over to the terminal for our flight in the morning. I’m not sure if the pandemic has affected this, but when we’ve arrived at the hotel early enough, we’ve taken their bus shuttle into Rome for a last dinner. It runs every hour (or so?), drops you off across the Tiber from Trastevere…the last shuttle back is about 10 pm…perfect for a nice little dinner and gelato!!
We have stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn at the airport a few times. The free shuttle that makes the rounds of the airport hotels stops there.
My friend stayed at the FCO Hello Sky last November before an early morning flight and was quite satisfied with it, and she is very particular about things. I used the Hello Sky lounge two years ago for a several hour wait to connect with friends and was also satisfied with it.
While many people recommend the Hilton, I had a good experience staying at the Best Western for a lot less money. You will need to take their shuttle to the airport but when I used it last fall the cost was only 7 euro.
Buon viaggio,
Cynthia
I would stay in the city center and arrange for a private taxi to get you to the airport. It's always better for us to do it this way because we like to stay out as late as possible on our last night there. Walking the Via del Corso is how we typically end our trips to Rome. Staying at the airport is convenient and I have done it a time or two but it's just so much nicer to have a car take us to the airport the morning of our flight. We use www.suntransfers.com and they let us choose a pickup time. They will suggest a time based on your flight information but you can make it earlier if you want. You are going to have to get yourself to the airport at some point anyway so the expense isn't too much more for a private taxi on your personal schedule. Also, if you're staying in a popular area, you might be near a taxi stand. We love the Loconda Navona Hotel and there is a taxi stand just outside of the Piazza Navona on the north end (to the right as you exit the north end of the piazza). I am sorry that I can't suggest an airport hotel but I hope the option I provide give you something else to consider. Good luck!
I’ve stayed at the hotel Hilton at the airport many times. While it’s lacking in character, it’s within easy walking distance of the terminal and provides great service.
We stayed at Hellosky. Very pleased. Rooms are neat, Clean and have wifi. Now they don't have free coffee and a restaurant per se, but believe me, it was so nice to just walk out of the room right into the airport that morning.
Thank you all for your responses, this is extremely helpful!
