Hotel near Rome FCO airport?

I am interested in any recommendations for a hotel near Rome’s FCO airport. In September, we are arriving one day before our travel companions and would like a hotel that will have a room available in the morning when we arrive and that has a free shuttle to and from the airport. Thanks for any suggestions.

It would help to know a bit more about the circumstances. After your friends arrive, where are you all planning to go?

In the same situation, I'd get a hotel room in Rome and your friends can meet you there. It's an easy trip into Rome using the Leonardo Express (€14 PP, 32 minutes).

We’d prefer staying near the airport since we’re driving to an agriturismo when they arrive. We’ve been to Rome several times and just need a hotel to rest after our long flight there.

Hi allie,

The Hotel Hilton - a bit pricey but walkable since it's so close to FCO. I've never stayed there; just going by suggestions.

Perhaps browse this link; compare and read reviews.

Considerations before booking:

  • Proximity to FCO airport.
  • Offer of a shuttle - Complimentary or for a small fee.
  • Price of hotel room.

It's usually a very good idea to book direct with hotel website.

I stayed in hotel Hilton. It is a walking distance to the terminals. I don't know about a shuttle but they have a complimentary bus going from Hilton to the center of Rome and back. There is a timetable at the reception.

Definitely the Hilton. It’s a bit pricey at about $250 but once you factor in the cost of taxi transfers its not much more than a hotel elsewhere. That way you are next to the airport rental car center. I generally stay there when I arrive late or depart early from FCO.

Thanks for the additional information. Given the circumstances, I agree with the others and would suggest staying at the Rome Airport Hilton. It's a bit pricey but you'll only be there for a night or so, and that should be manageable. You can easily walk from the hotel into the airport terminals in a few minutes.

We always stay at the FCO Hilton when we have to stay at the airport. You can walk from rental car drop, walk or take shuttle to airport terminal, and they have restaurants which many airport hotels lack. Room are nice quality, business hotel.

We are staying at Hotel Riviera. Close to airport. Near the coast. Very reasonable rates and good reviews. Shuttle for nominal fee is available to/from airport.

Thanks to all for the advice. We have decided on the Hilton because of its free shuttle into Rome and its proximity to the airport. Also, we like the pool which will feel relaxing after flying all night. We appreciate everyone who responded.
