We are flyin g home out of Milan and would like to stay near the Linate airport as we have to get to the airport around 9am. Does anyone have any suggestions?

We have the same issue. Leaving out of Linate. WE chose to stay in Milan right by the train-bus stations. The reason for this is...didn't want to spend a day stuck in a hotel when we could have some time to explore the city, find a place to eat, etc.
We have been to Milan before, there isn't much there to see, except the Duomo etc. The shopping is fun, but is expensive.
Check out website to find a good hotel close to the train, it is less expensive, and transportation is easy to Linate, it is not far from the center of town.

This hotel was great 4 years ago, and food was surprisingly good. It was worth the price.
