I need to find a hotel near Malpensa airport for our family of four as our flight leaves the next morning around 11 a.m. The reviews of airport hotels that I found on the travelers helpline were a bit old. Can anyone recommend a hotel that they have stayed in recently near Malapensa?

Malpensa Express trains from the Cadorna station (located in the heart of Milan city center) will get you to to airport (Malpensa Station, right across the terminals) in 29 to 36 min. Arrive at the airport Two hours prior to the departure if the flight is to the US (75 min are sufficient if stopping in a EU hub first).
If you absolutely want to stay closer to Malpensa, I recommend staying in Gallarate, just 10 min by taxi (or bus) from Malpensa. There are numerous trains fromMilan to Gallarate throughout the day. At least Gallarate will have some night life and restaurants in your last night in Italy, compared to the airport hotels located in the middle of nowhere at the airport proper.

I've stayed at the Cardano Hotel Malpensa. They have airport shuttle service, family rooms (sleep 4), pool, bar/restaurant.
