Hotel near Linate Airport (Milan)

I have an early morning flight out of Linate and I'm looking for a hotel/motel nearby?

Did a search and most of the results are several years old, and most recommendations are to stay in Milan given the proximity to the airport, however my flight is early (7am) and I don't want to be caught up in any morning traffic. Secondarily, I'm traveling by train, I'm guessing a taxi would be the most flexible to get to the hotel, however if there's a train/bus service that stops nearby, that I would consider. Appreciate the member's response.

There is no reason to stay near Linate. LIN is very close, less than 5 miles from the city center and a taxi can get you there in 15 minutes. Find a hotel in the city center so you can spend a nice evening downtown on your last night.

If your flight is at 7 AM and you stay in central Milan and you take a taxi, you'll be leaving at about 5 AM - far too early for there to be any traffic tie-ups on the way to the airport.

Totally agree with the others. I stayed near the Duomo and needed a taxi for a 6A flight. The front desk arranged it and suggested I not leave before 4:30. I insisted on 4 and they were right. I should have listened. By 7 it may be busier and at that time I also had Medallion status with Delta, had the luggage tag displayed and the Alitalia/KLM agent noted it, pulled me out of the longer line and I was checked in quickly.
