Hotel near FCO, Rome airport for early flight.

Looking for recommendation for a hotel near FCO Rome airport with a free shuttle. Is the noise bad at the hotels that are adjacent to the airport, bad enough to stay farther away? Please give feedback on these hotels, or recommend others - Hilton Rome Airport, Hilton Garden Inn Rome Airport. Which is best or is another better? Thank you

Our flight is 10 am. I booked a room at the Hilton Rome Airport, it is so convenient. Thank you.

We’ve flown out of FCO many times at that time or earlier. Rome is such a vibrant city at night we’d never give up an evening to stay at the airport. Transportation is easy to arrange. A 6AM pickup will get you there in plenty of time.

I don't sleep well if I'm worried about being at the airport for a morning flight, so I just stay at the Hilton Airport Hotel. I've stayed there three times and have my reservation for next year, too. I like that I'm able to take the overhead walkways, so I don't need to think about taxis, shuttles, etc.

For a 10am flight, you can have a good night's sleep at that hotel, check in at the airport, and have some breakfast before flying back home.

Hilton Rome Airport was quiet for the night we stayed. Nice breakfast spread in the morning. The walk to the terminal is totally doable but longer than it seems so allow time accordingly. Would stay again if my plans dictated it.

If you are arriving in Rome that evening/night from somewhere else then staying at the airport makes perfect sense. You wouldn’t have much time if any to spend in Rome anyways. But if not, I echo those suggestions from the other posters to consider staying in Rome proper. If you’re already in Rome for the preceding days the hotel swap eats up time. If you’re arriving from elsewhere earlier in the day (and you are up for it) I really enjoyed having time to savor the trip, do some quick sightseeing and enjoy a nice dinner and drinks before departing the next morning.

I am in the same situation in November after back to back tours ending in Catania. I was considering to stay the last night before flying out the next day at the Hotel Smeraldo where our Southern Italy tour begins. I thought it's familiar (by then) and in the middle of everything; but I've been there already and seen what I wanted to see. Frankly the biggest negative for me was 50 euros there and 50 euros back to the airport. I decided to stay by the airport at the Capitani Guest House I found on Booking.com for a lower rate and shuttle to airport for 10 euros each way. After a month of touring I can leisurely get my act together, have a nice breakfast, and a quick shuttle to the airport.

The Hilton Garden Inn is a little cheaper than the regular Hilton, but both are over priced, IMHO, for what they are. Book asap, as prices do rise as the date approaches. This past May, the Garden Inn was fully booked when we were there. And the Garden Inn does have a 24 hr free shuttle .

From Hilton hotel lobby to the T3 check in area it's almost 600 m. (2000 ft.) walk on the (unairconditioned) overhead walkway, so almost 10 min walk largely on moving walkways.

Keep that into consideration when you plan your time to get to the check in.

loved Airport Hilton. I stayed there overnight and then took a connecting flight to Sicily the next morning.
So convienient and an easy walk from the terminal. What was great was that after I dumped my bag in the room, and even though I was really tired from a 16 hour flight from California, I could walk 10 minutes back to the airport and get some food to eat.
Not a gormet Rome cafe meal, but even airport food in Italy is good.
Then the next morning for my early flight I was right there.
