Hotel near FCO

I would appeciate any recommendations on a hotel near Rome airport (FCO), something reasonably priced and comfortable with good, quick access to airport (we have a 9:30 a.m. flight out). Would also be nice if we had options for getting into the city the previous afternoon. Thanks!

With a 9:30 departure which is mostly likely a domestic flight you could easily stay in Rome and as long as you are at the airport by 8 AM which would be a 7:00 AM departure via shuttle from your hotel in Rome. The area around the airport is pretty dreary and expensive.

Frank is correct. You can easily stay in Rome for your last night. Hotels are used to having taxis there early in the morning for transport to FCO. As for staying in Fiumicino, it's not a tourist destination. They know why you are there. One night and you're gone.

Ken, Frank and Larry make good points. With a a 9:30 departure, all travel options from Rome - train, bus, taxi, private shuttle, etc. - are available for you. One you head to an airport hotel... your vacation is over. As mentioned, Fiumicino is a small town and not much going on there. Only the larger hotels would offer a shuttle service and many of these services end before you'd have time for a dinner in Rome. With that time-frame, I'd suggest, like them... to spend your last night in the city enjoying Rome at Night. But if you're set on an airport hotel, here are a few suggestions for the highest-rated Hotels and B&B's near the FCO Airport by Booking.com and Venere.com guests. Just make sure you KNOW the hotel shuttle options before booking. It's about a €20+ ride in a Fiumicino taxi to go from many of these accommodations to the FCO airport, despite being less than 5 miles away. Like them, I'd say spend your last night in Rome!

The Park Hotel Isola Sacra is 5 minutes from the airport and will shuttle you there for €6
