Most of what I read is seems good about this hotel. Beautiful views, sea access, pool, easy access to town. Maybe a little dated, great service. Have u been there lately? And is there sea access and a beach? Good choice ?or is there an another amazing spot in amalfi area that we should stay at? We are scheduled to take the train from Venice to Sorrento nada since the boat wont still be running at 18:30 we will figure something out. Suggestions? We will day trip to Pompeii from there. I'd appreciate your thoughts. Thank you

Hotel seems nice. Great views obviously.
Seems like you have a little bit of a walk to get anywhere since it is up on a cliff (hence the better views)
I preferred Positano greatly over Amalfi (better beach, better views, etc...) but the church in Amalfi is stunning as is the main piazza. Amalfi makes it much easier to reach Ravello, Positano easier to reach Capri.
Neither are ideal for reaching Pompeii. Sorrento more convenient for that so I believe unless you arrage some type of tour you will need to get yourself back to Sorrento to begin a trip to Pompeii.
As far as getting to Amalfi from Sorrento, take the SITA bus, it runs late at night so no worries there. That is the main mode of public transit, not the slower more scenic boat.
