Hotel Marriott Grand Flora or Hotel Ludovisi Palace in Rome?

This is our first trip to Rome and we would like some suggestions please. Has anyone stayed at either of these hotels-- hotel Marriott Grand Flora or Hotel Ludovisi Palace? If so, can you please recommend which one is better? Tripadvisor.com says that Ludovisi is near Spanish steps and Marriott is near Via Veneto. Which is a better place to stay?

We stayed at Marriott Grand Flora in December 2010. Lovely hotel and quite an easy walk to most everything. I would probably take a city bus to Coleseum and Vatican. This hotel will not disappoint you. I have never stayed in the other hotel. Rome is stunning. Have a safe trip

Thank you Jackie! Is the hotel kid friendly? I will be travelling with my 2 kids aged 9 and 3 yrs. I'm also a little concerned if my younger child will be bored in Rome. From all the posts, it looks like there is a lot of walking with a lot of history and arts! Did you also use any of the guided tours to Colliseum and the Vatican? Or was the hotel able to assist you with that?
Any suggestions?Thanks for your help.
