Does anyone have any experience with the Hotel Margherita in Monterosso? It sounds pretty good from the website, but I was wondering if anyone has any firsthand knowledge. It sounds centrally located and convenient, but would appreciate any positive or negative comments.

I don't see the Hotel Margherita in the 2007 RS book. However, www.tripadvisor.com rates this hotel as #3 out of 17 hotels in Monterosso. Nice reviews.

We (three couples) stayed there in October '07 - only because we could not get in the Hotel Villa Steno. Hotel Margherita was great! It was clean bright and new. The bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was excellent. It did cost more than I am used to spending but that is the way things are going in the CT. The hotel is right on the main drag (via Roma I think) in the old part of Monterosso - I did not hear any street noise or the trains when I was in my room. I'd stay there again and I'd recommend it to anyone heading to the CT. Have fun.
