Hi. None of the hotels frequently recommended in this forum (e.g. Lancelot, Smeraldo) have availability in Sept., and I came across these on one of the main booking platforms. I'm hoping someone can give me their experiences with them. Mancino 12 looks more like an STR, but claims to have a front desk manned 24/7, and is very centrally located, but does not have breakfast. Some reviews say the specific block it is on is terrible, but the pictures don't look like it (of course). At 41 seems a bit more out of the way, but claims to have a great breakfast buffet. Raffaello seems nice also, but is a best west property, and I've not had great experiences with those in the US. All are about the same price per night, around $350/nt in September this year, and the room pictures look very nice (of course). I'd appreciate any feedback.
We stayed at Hotel Raffaello in 2015 and had a very good experience then. We were traveling with our two teenage sons, and they had a family room which suited us at the time. (It’s still recommended in RS’s book.) We loved the location, nice breakfast, and rooftop bar and wouldn’t hesitate to book again.
I have not stayed at either of them
We stayed at the Raffaello in 2019 and were pleased. The location was fine for us and we walked almost everywhere, I.e. Borghese Galleria, Piazza Navona, Basilica Papale di Santa Maria Maggiore. The breakfast was fine, the room was fine and there was an elevator, so it ticked all the boxes we wanted.
We stayed at Raffaelo on our first trip to Rome, and it was fine. During our most recent visit we stayed at The Spotlight Boutique Hotel and loved everything about it. The hotel is new; welcoming and professional staff; terrific breakfast choices. Price during our stay converted to around $350 per night. We would stay there again in a heartbeat.
Thanks everyone. Appreciate you taking the time to advise me.
