My fiance and I booked rooms at the Florence Dream B&B a few months ago. Over the last few days I've emailed them a couple of times asking if they would setup reservations for us at the Uffizi and Accademia, but I can't them to respond one way or another. Any suggestions? Should I assume we have reservation or should I just setup my own?
If it was me, I would set-up my own, since the hotel is clearly not very dependable. I was sick of art museums by the time I got to Florence, but I've heard you don't want to be caught without a reservation. When I travel I like to double and triple-check everything just to be on the safe side, so I'd go ahead and make reservations just in case. Then maybe send the hotel an email telling them you've made the reservations yourself.
I bought a phone card here in the US and called and made reservations using the number that Rick gives in the book. It is incredibly easy to do. I would not trust your Hotel as our hotel like many in Florence are just plain bad and dishonest.
My hotel in Florence made our reservations for both the Uffizi and the Accademia with no problem. I emailed them with my request for date and time that I wanted to visit the museums and they responded within 24 hours with the confirmation. Sounds like your hotel has not made your reservations. It's a must in my opinion.
