Hotel Lancelot in Rome and Hotel Serenissma Venice vs. . . .

I am torn between a tour with Pensione Gueratto (Venice) and Hotel Aberdeen (Rome) and another date with Hotel Seranissma (Venice) and Hotel Lancelot (Rome).
Would appreciate any comments. Thanks! Ruth

What a nice problem to have. As for Aberdeen v. Lancelot in Rome, I would prefer the Aberdeen location for a first visit to Rome. The Lancelot location is a little isolated. But srsly, either choice will be great as part of an RS tour.

Thanks, Michael. Just wonderin'-- do you know if Lancelot is "nicer" than Aberdeen? I was looking at photos on Trip Advisor and Lancelot looked especially nice.

Stayed at the Lancelot about 3 years ago. We had two nice large rooms (one with a balcony) but they do vary and if you look at Tripadvisor you will see comments on size of bathrooms as well as rooms. The staff (family owners) were very friendly and helpful Not your typical hotel building, I believe it was converted from an apartment building. As to location, we really liked it. Colosseum at the end of the street and small quiet neighbourhood feel. We don't mind walking so the fact that we were not in the centre did not bother us and found getting around no problem. Metro and bus stops at the Colosseum.
