I have reservations at both of these hotels, and am trying to decide between the two. My husband and I are travelling with our 18 year old daughter... first time to Venice... or to Italy for that matter. We'll be staying for 3 nights. Any pros and cons please... I've read mixed reviews, so I'm unsure now.

Upper floors of the Pensione Guerrato by stairs only. Another reason to check booking.com on all hotels.
Yes, it seems that most of the older hotels have stairs only, which is not a problem... I began with choosing hotels recommended in Rick's latest book, and they are both in it, and then read the reviews on booking.com. Thanks.
I stayed in Pensione Guerrato on a RS tour in April. It was the worst hotel I have stayed at on four RS tours! Uncomfortable beds, so many stairs! Reception starts on the second level and goes on from there.
Thank you so much for the information.... This morning I decided to go with my gut, and cancelled the Pensione, I kept the Hotel La Residenzia... hoping it works well for us!
