Hotel in Venice with A/C

Can anyone recommend a hotel in Venice with A/C that is clean and in a decent location for about $120 Euro or less?
We will be there in July.

Linda - How do you feel about sharing a bathroom on the hall? If you can handle that, you have more options, especially in Venice in July. Some people can't imagine staying in a hotel that way. Others think nothing of it since usually only a couple of other rooms share the bathroom (toilet, shower; sink is in your room) with you.

One such hotel is the Santa Lucia. It has bright, clean rooms - really unusually spacious for Venice - with air conditioning! It's kept spotless and and has a small garden for breakfast or drinks outside, also very unusual for Venice.

It's just off the Lista de Spagna, the first busy street leading from the train station to the Rialto. The street gets a bad rap for being too touristed, and that's fair because it's crowded with souvenir stands and tourist restaurants. The Santa Lucia is actually down a very narrow alley in a quiet neighborhood next to a park. It's actually quite a local neighborhood because few tourists venture that way and there are a number of apartment buildings in that section of town. There's a great bar for morning coffee and snacks a few doors down and you'll be greeted as a friend the second morning you stop in.

Try the B&B Ca Centopietre. I had a great stay there last May and they have air conditioning. It is on Dorsoduro, about 5 minutes from Accademia vaporetto stop. website is www.centopietre.net and there are lots of reviews on tripadvisor for this if you would like to see more. The manager (Carlo) is extremely helpful.

I sent an email inquiry directly to the hotel and Carlo offered me a better rate than what was posted on the website.

We stayed at Hotel Al Ponte Mocenigo last July and loved it -- gorgeous room with AC and private bath (two requirements of mine). But I believe we paid 145 Euro, so a bit out of your range.

Louis' cost of €145/night is within the cost range Rick believes are typical for modest double room hotels in Venice. Trying to find same for less than €85/night is going to be challenging. It's Venice and if you want AC, well...
