I've narrowed our hotel choice in Venice down to two hotels - Hotel Pensione Guerrato or Hotel Riva. I've looked at tons of reviews and just can't decide. Can anyone help? (They both seem to have a good location and are affordable.) We do want a hotel that is affordable, yet has charm.

Pension Guerrato is a excellent choice.Im not familiar with Riva.

We've stayed at Guerrato twice and can't recommend it highly enough. It's where Rick's tour groups stay when they go through Venice. I can't think of a higher recommendation than that. No idea about Riva.

We have always enjoyed hotel San Giorgio we stayed several times and will be back there in October, located in between San Marco and Rialto and affordable.
