Any recommendations for a hotel near the Train Station in Venice requirements - 3 people with private bathroom and breakfast
Any advice or information greatly appreciationed
Hotel Abbazia. Not cheap, but clean rooms, great staff at reception desk, good breakfast. Ask for a room overlooking the courtyard with a newer bathroom. No elevator. Close to train station. No bridge to cross over when walking from train station. You might get a slightly better price booking through www.booking.com (I did when I booked last year).
Do you need to be near the station for some reason? It's easy to get there by vaporetto from almost anywhere in Venice. We usually stay in San Polo nearer the Frari Church and just hop the boat to leave. We give ourselves an hour and always get to the station in plenty of time.
We have used -- and have booked again -- Hotel Florida which is seconds from the train station. NOTHING is cheap in Venice but this is less astronomical. Good breakfasts and right at a vaporetto stop. No elevator. Nice staff.
Hotel St Lucia
Second the Hotel Abbazia. We've stayed there many times and the property is first rate, the staff is great, and the train station is nearby. The location is on a quiet calle (alley) away from the hustle and bustle.
Buon viaggio,
Thanks I have booked Hotel Flordia
