Has anyone stayed at the Venice Maggior Consiglio or the Locanda Ponte Vecie hotels?
Getting in rather late and departing early so we'd like to be near the train station. There are closer ones but they are quite a bit more expensive.
We love staying at the Hotel Al Codega when we are in Venice. Its in an ideal location for site seeing but not really near the train station. We had an early flight out of Marco Polo once time and we hired a private taxi to get us there. There is a small canal near the hotel where taxis can pick you up. I prefer staying near the things I want to see and do and arrange my transportation around that. Good luck with whatever you decide.
Hotels and B&Bs near the train station are more reasonably priced and you can walk through the city or take the water bus.
Thanks so much for your input. Much appreciated!
