Has anyone stayed at the Hotel al Piave or Hotel Bel Sito? Which do you recommend? Also, we wish to go to La Bienale exhibit. How many venues are their to visit and how long does it take? We are short on time!
Have you read the reviews and looked at other travelers' pictures? http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g187870-d235842-Reviews-Hotel_Al_Piave-Venice_Veneto.html http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g187870-d239474-Reviews-Bel_Sito_e_Berlino-Venice_Veneto.html
I have stayed at the Hotel al Piave with a family of 4. We stayed in an apartment a block away from the main hotel. It was very spacious and close enough to the main building that breakfast wasn't an issue. I would stay there again.
I stayed at the Bel Sito and loved it. It was a few years ago, probably 5, but the location was fantastic, on a small Piazza with a church across the street, and St. Mark's square was very close. The rooms are small, the chandeliers are Murano Glass ones, small. Overall, I found the hotel very, very charming and very, very Italian. The breakfasts were typical Italian, and the front desk was helpful but they did NOT like giving the RS discount, but that's OK with me. When I go back to Venice, I'll definitely stay there again. Ask them about the wonderful lunch place where you order lunch from a hot/cold case eat on picnic benches inside. Best food I had there and very very inexpensive.
