Has anyone stayed at the Locanda Al Leon in Venice. Just wondering how it is.

Locanda Al Leon is our favorite hotel in Venice! We’ve stayed there twice and will be returning in October. Lovely small hotel (which we like)..carefully run by Giuliano and Marcella. It’s fairly close to San Marco (but far enough removed), on a small campo…you might want to know that there are several restaurants close by, but we have never been bothered by noise. Sweet little hotel!

A hotel in that campo was recommended in Corryat’s guide to Venice, His guide rather pre-dated Rick Steves, Lonely Planet, Fodors and most of the others. Doubtless the management Corryat found has moved on; his guide was written around 1650.
That campo sits behind Palazzo Da Mosto, the oldest palazzo on the Grand Canal.
