I am looking for a hotel in Venice in early October. I have stayed at the Hotel Guerrato but
unfortunately it is booked. I will be going on a cruise to Singapore and would like a hotel
that is convenientally located (as few stairs as possible) as I will have a large bag and a
carry-on. I would prefer a hotel that includes breakfast but not necessity. Please give
me your suggestions. Thanks in advance.

I'm glad to hear that you would go back to Hotel Guerrato as I am booked there for my trip in May. When I went online the hotel showed no vacancies but I emailed (and mentioned Rick Steves) and the response was that rooms were available. I would guess that as with many RS suggested hotels they are busy enough that they can block out rooms from the online booking services and save the fees by booking direct.
