Hotel in Turin

I'm at a loss on selecting a hotel in Turin since Rick Steves doesn't include Turin in his guidebooks!

Any recommendations for hotels in Turin? I've been all over TripAdvisor and Venere, but trust the RS following most of all!

Please share any advice on centrally located (Piazza Castello area or Train station) hotels in Turin.

Molto Grazie!

I haven't stayed in Turin, but I've passed through a couple of times on connections between train stations. My old (2005) copy of The Rough Guide to Italy has a number of listings at a range of prices. Their descriptions are usually reliable. You might check out their recent issue and find something.

Thanks for the idea -- I haven't used the Rough Guides before. Would you say they have a similar emphasis as RS? i.e. local flavor, moderate prices, good values, etc?

Ciao Nancy, I hope should be useful the web site of Turismo-Torino, owned by the city's turism office. You'll find a lot of info about hotels and (important) special offers about accomodations. If you have answer about the city and suggestion, don't esitate to ask. If you like you'll find a lot of foto albums here : http://community.webshots.com/user/mauipm

Rough Guides have lots more details and maps than RS; their hotel listings are often more toward the budget end. The books lack personality, but seem reliable. Mostly I've used them in finding low-cost hotels.
