My daughter and a friend are traveling from France to Sicily for a few days. They are thinking of basing themselves in Taormina. Looking for suggestions for hotels that are in the upper mid range (4 star) - want something nice but not crazy expensive. A pool and not too far from the beach or town would be great. Also any other suggestions for things to do and restaurants would be most appreciated. Thank you!
I stayed at the Eurostars Monte Tauro

It's a four star hotel with free breakfast, a good size outdoor pool, I believe all rooms have a balcony and face the sea. About a 7-10 minute walk into the center of town.
I also suggest she get a "granita" at the Bam Bar about a five minute walk from the hotel. They are known for them.
Thank you...I will look into this hotel. Appreciate the information!
We stayed at Hotel Bel Soggiorno, Via Pirandello 60. It was a nice hotel and not expensive, but didn’t have a pool. It was a more basic hotel. The rate included breakfast and it had parking. It’s halfway up the hill between the beach and the old town. It does have great views.
Thank you...will check this out!
Taormina is high up on top of a steep hill and the beach is way down below. There is a gondola that she can take down there and back.
We liked our hotel but no pool.
Hotel Villa Schuler. Not far from the main pedestrian area.
