What is a good hotel in Rome convenient for sightseeing.
Have you checked the recommendations in Rick Steves' Rome book?
You're going to have be MUCH more specific if you want a usable answer.
What are your travel dates?
What is your budget, in euros (things like "moderate price" mean different things to different people)?
What do you mean by "a good hotel"? Again, different people have different requirements. Do you want or need an elevator? Must breakfast be included, and what kind of breakfast (Italians eat a roll and coffee; is this enough for you?) Do you want or need a balcony or a view?
How many are in your party?
Etc, etc. Help us help you!
And yes, do look at Rick Steves Rome or Rick Steves Italy for starters. If the listings there are not suitable, tell us why; that will give people a good head start in what you do need.
There are thousands of hotel rooms in Roma that are convenient to sightseeing. The most centrally located are in the Piazza Navona/Campo dei Fiori/Pantheon area, in my opinion. What are your requirements besides location?
There are scores. Here's one - Hotel Oceania. http://www.hoteloceania.it/
Delle Torre Argentina is a safe choice. This is my second stay here. No breakfast though. We buy food and stick it in the mini fridge. Close to many sites. Anything around Campo dei Fiori/Pantheon/Piazza Navona will serve you well. Consider Hotel Smearaldo if you are on a tight budget. It's very close to my hotel. I would not get a hotel right on Campo dei fiori because of the night time noise. A couple of streets away is good.
Try the Beehive in Rome :)
If you have the budget, we found Hotel Nazionale, which Rick covers in his book, to be terrific.
The rooms were wonderful with high ceilings and a lot of old school charm.
The breakfast options were terrific, especially if you have kids who need choices.
And the location, right next to the parliament building, was awesome. It's less than 5 minutes walk to the Pantheon.
We are going back to Rome next summer and will be staying there again.
