Requesting suggestions for 4 travelers in Mid-August traveling to stay that is reasonably priced and great location to walk to all tourist attractions in Rome. Have stayed at Hotel Smeraldo a few years ago and loved it, would like other options.
hey hey sandrablack24
what does reasonably prices in euros mean? what may be reasonably to me may mean less or me to you.
august is high season and very HOT with supply and demand. who are 4 travelers (adults/if kids and what ages) and do you want family rooms or separate rooms? is this your first time to rome, what are expecting to see in attractions/activities? some of the main attractions you will need reservations that are date/time stamped, many are so crowded and busy with long lines in the heat.
more info will help us help you, where are you headed after rome? good luck and enjoy
aloha
We always stay in the Termini area for the convenience of local transit. Have used Hotel Aberdeen and Sonya. Sonya is a little closer to Termini -- just across from the Opera House with good restaurants around the corners. Wife prefers Sonya because the lattes are better --- ??? maybe by a very small margin. Big advantage is that a lot of the business and trams will circle through Termini so you can catch about any bus or tram that says Termini and know where you are going. Very useful when lost.
Stayed at Hotel Smeraldo, two years ago and loved it, they are currently sold-out the dates that we will be in Rome prior to our cruise. We are looking to see the Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, check out the area of Via del Corso and try restaurants in Trastevere. My understanding is that two rooms will be need and trying to stay within a budget of under $1K for both rooms at a nice hotel with breakfast included.
