hotel in rome

My daughter and I will be in Rome for a week, I was ready to book a room at the hotel Albergo del Senato but I cannot find out how close it is to the metro or a bus stop. Does any one know? I have some health issues so we want to be close to either the metro or bus stop. thanks

Address ??? That would be helpful. Ask the hotel.

The hotel is located in the Plazza della Rotonda by the Pantheon. When I asked the hotel the answer was bus service and taxis are in the area. Do you know how I find out if the metro is close? thanks!

Google maps satellite view. From what I can see metro stops are not close. The Argentina tram stop is the closest. Appears to be about 5 -6 blocks away. It is also a bus stop.

Karen, the Albergo del Senato is a wonderful hotel in a great location. There are no metro stations in the "centro" area of town - closest might be Spagna and Barberini, certainly within walking distance. But you'll find if you stay in this area you'll be riding far more buses - even to the Vatican sites. I'd go look at a Google Map and you will get the geneal idea that the Albergo del Senato is located "in between" multiple bus options. First, the 116 bus runs about 2 short blocks from the hotel. See this post, Bus #116 for pictures, maps, and photos of the route. This bus operates the closest to your hotel. As suggested, you can walk 350 meters to Largo Argentina - there's a video shot driving through the square in this article: Videos of Riding a Scooter in Rome. From Largo Argentina you can get almost anywhere. Or you can walk 400 meters to the Via del Corso and catch a multitude of buses - especially good for heading to the Colosseo on the 85 or 850. Another small, electric bus, Bus 117 to Piazza San Giovanni in Laterano also stops here on the Corso. If you head in the opposite direction, towards Piazza Navona, perhaps 250 meters, you can get on a bus on the street, Corso del Rinascimento. For example, the 492 can get you close to the Vatican Museums from here. Or cross this street and jump on the 87 which would you off in front of the Colosseo. So with all those options, I'd not worry too much about the metro. You might read Riding buses in Rome for more pictures of Largo Argentina and info on the bus procedures. Good Luck!
