Does anyone know of a little undiscovered jewel of a hotel in Rome that is not too expensive? I am looking for something close to the Pantheon or really anywhere in the city center.
Got to define "not too expensive" in one of the more expensive cities in Europe. Second -- undiscovered jewel, not too expensive, close to the Pantheon -- are all phrases that do not play well together. Also do a little search on this site. There probably are two dozen or more responses to similar questions in just the past week.
Sheila, Look at places just off the piazzas. There are alot of less expensive jewels tucked back in the streets and alleys. Look around Piazza Navona and Campo de Fiori.
Shiela, I know this place isn't in the area you are inquiring about. However, it is a "jewel." It is a lovely b&b,called At Your Place. It is located about 10 minutes from the Vatican. Close to public transportation. It is very reasonably priced and the owner, Luca is wonderful. This b&b has only 5 rooms, nicely decorated, great bathrooms and delicious breakfast. Check it our on Trip Advisor. You won't be disappointed.
