Hi All: This is, admittedly, a long shot since I haven't seen anything listed or posted about Reggio Emilia. It's a fairly small town about mid-way between Parma and Modena in the North (closest big city is Bologna). I'm traveling there for a family member's wedding mid-June of 2026. If anyone's visited there, I'd be grateful for suggestions/information about weather, hotels and transportation to and from Bologna (where I'm flying into), as well as anything else you can offer. Thanks as always for the wonderful people on this forum.
I think every contributor here knows where Reggio Emilia is. It is a well known provincial capital.
I used to go there in youth as I had a girlfriend for a short while. I would not define it a small town. The city itself has probably about 200,000 residents nowadays but if you count the whole metro area in the province you can easily surpass half a million.
In June the weather in RE is very warm to hot, some years hotter than others, and sometimes bordering muggy, but hopefully it won’t be as bad as in late June or July. Just check the weather forecast a few days before going, but you won’t need a coat for sure, probably not even a sweater.
If you stay in Bologna a few days, the best way to go to RE is by train, there are many and also fast ones. If you go straight from the airport there might be a bus service to RE but I don’t know. In any case you can go from the airport to Bologna Centrale (via taxi or people mover) and take the train.
I never stayed in hotels there, only friends’ house, but you can use Booking.com and do a search for the type of hotel you want. If you don’t have a car it might be best to look in the city center, preferably near Piazza Prampolini, which is the center of everything, there should be some also not far from the station, just east of the historical center.

They haven't provided a 'cheat sheet' of info for those coming from afar?
If you take the people mover (Marconi Express) from the Bologna Marconi Airport (Guglielmo Marconi, the inventor of the radio was from Bologna) to Bologna Centrale station, know that the 8 minute mover ride is expensive (almost €13 per person one way), so for two people it would be as much or as the taxi (and sometimes the line for the people mover is long).
