Hotel in Ravenna & Padua

We will be in Ravenna for one evening and Padua for one evening. We are looking for an inexpensive hotel for one night for both cities. If anyone has a recommendation for a hotel that they have stayed in that is clean and functional, can you please pass along the name and the location in town? We are trying to avoid the numerous websites with thousands of listings because of the short stay in each city. The hotel does not have to be fancy, but we would like something charming if possible. Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions.

I second Casa Masoli! We stayed there earlier this year and loved it. Beautiful buildings, beautiful rooms, nice breakfast, and the owners are great! We were there in March and the cost was not expensive. You can check their website and can make reservations there if you choose.

In Padua, consider the Hotel Al Cason. We stayed there several nights 2 years ago, while training in and out to Verona, Venice, Vicenza. 10 mi walk to train station (our priority), bus ride into town easy (not walkable from hotel as I recall). Modern, large rooms and large bath, spotless, small bar, restuarant that was quite nice, computer in lobby. Family run, they were quite kind to us during our stay. The hotel itself is modern; what was truly charming however were the folks who ran it.

We stayed at Hotel Centrale Byron in Ravenna. Right in the middle of town. We parked the car in a garage 2 blocks away. It was perfect. Price included breakfast. The train station was an easy walk, and took a day trip to Bologna. The mosaic's a beautiful. There is a great shop in town to purchase beautiful mosaic's and they ship it home for you. We purchase a huge mirror and it arrived perfect!!
