Ciao! Anyone have thoughts on where to stay in Palermo and/or Cefalu?

Hotel Ambasciatori in Palermo! We've stayed there twice. Great staff, great rooftop terrace for breakfast. Also bar and restaurant up there. An easy walk from the train station. And not expensive.

The only down side I can think of is if you have mobility issues. There is an elevator, but it doesn't go all the way up to the rooftop terrace/bar/restaurant.

GT if you go to the Our Tours page here, and look at the Best of Sicily tour, the photo at the top of the two people holding flowers, is on the rooftop terrace of the Ambasciatori. It's the Palermo hotel for the RSE tour. Great view.

We had booked B&B delle Vittorie in Palermo for September 2020. Our choice was based on several rave reviews from this forum and Booking.com. Unfortunately we had to cancel due to the lockdown. The B&B host was so gracious when we had to cancel. We would definitely rebook. https://www.bbdellevittorie.it/it/

Rather than stay in Palermo, we stayed Monreale at B&B Elvira Al Duomo since we had a rental car. The B&B was very nice. We took the bus into Palermo. In Cefalù we stayed at Hotel Alberi del Paradiso on Via Dei Mulini. It’s about a half mile from the town center. It was nice and had a free shuttle to take you into town and bring you back. The included breakfast was very good.

Take a look at Palazzo Pantaleo BnB in Palermo. Good location, near Teatro Politeama and just a short walk to Teatro Massimo. Excellent breakfast and friendly owner. Also stayed at a great BnB called Al Nobile Viandante, very reasonable price, near Teatro Massimo.

Normally I like to stay in small BnBs but in Cefalu all the ones I was interested in had multiple steps. In September of 2019 a friend and I stayed at a small 3 star hotel, Hotel la Giara, on Via Veterani, in the heart of the historical center, very close to the main piazza, the cathedral, and the water. Hotel had an elevator, included a complimentary breakfast and had a small rooftop terrace. It was fine.

Do a search here on the forum and you will see lots of recommendations.

I enjoyed my stay at B&B delle Vittorie in Palermo (Spring of 2018) and I’d definitely stay there again!

Enjoy your trip!
