Is anyone familiar with Hotel Stella Della Marina in Monterosso? My cousin has booked a room there and we are thinking of joining them there. It received good ratings on Trip Advisor but I generally use the hotels in the Rick Steve's book. Thoughts?
Thanks for your input.

My friends, family, and I stayed there in June of this past year (6 of us). Gabriel, the owner and inn keeper is an amazing host. This place doesn’t have an elevator, but not problem, Gabriel carried all of our bags. He made reservations for us at local restaurants, provided us with beach towels for our sailing cruise, just did everything to make sure we enjoyed our visit. He is an avid hiker and knows all the trails well. We had two people in our group with mobility issues, so we could not do the traditional hikes, but he made recommendations for Manrolo for us to walk a bit of the trails near the vineyards, drop our friends at a wine bar terrace and then take the girls for a small hike.
The hotel is named for his daughter. The rooms are average size and very clean. If you don’t mind staying on the third floor, you can have a small ocean view from the room. Our girls shared the ocean-view room. We faced the street in our room, but no real problem with noise.
They have a great rooftop terrace where they serve a nice breakfast every morning. When we left, we bought Gabriel a bottle of wine (from Silicy to share our family heritage). He felt more like a friend, rather than an inn keeper. I can’t say enough about his hospitality and would stay there again.

Sandy,
Thank you so much for your response! You have put our minds at ease. We are waiting for a response to our reservation request and very much looking forward to our second trip to Italy. We went last year and absolutely fell in love with the country and its people.
Thank you again. Happy travels!
Diane
I hope you enjoy. You can tell Gabriel hi from the Orlandos.
Will do Sandy. Thanks again.
