Hotel in Milan for 1 night; close to train taking us to Varena!

we have stayed twice at the hotel Michelangelo, right across the road from milan centrale, it is an older decor hotel but we found it very good for one night stop overs. breakfast was good.
we could roll our luggage from the train station and there is a nice restaurant in the area.
not sure about connection to varena , please check.

We are staying at Hotel Berna for one night before traveling to Varenna the following day. I have read several good reviews on it and it is quite close to Milano Centrale.

I would recommend the Berna or the Garda - both are about 1 block from the main train station - both are nice budget hotels.

As to your previous post, Berna is highly recommended. Garda, although we have not stayed there, appears to be another good option. Both are within easy walking distance.
