HELP!!!! I looked into Hotel Vechhia, but reviews were frighteningly bad. Also, Hotel London. Hotel Berna was VERY expensive! $830 for 4 nights for 2 people. All other suggestions were even more expensive.

$207 a night for a double room is not bad for Milan. Why are you spending four nights in Milan? You could stay at a nice place on Lake Como for less. And when are you going? Their prices fluctuate according to season, weekday/weekend, trade fair season, etc.

For our 1 night stay, we chose Hotel Star. Cheesy wall murals of exotic animals but overall a nice room and good breakfast.

I have a reservation for Hotel Garda for 65 euro a night for a double ensuite. I haven't actually been there yet, so I can't give a personal review, but it gets decent reviews on tripadvisor.
