We are driving into Milan so i don't want a hotel in downtown, can anyone recommend a CLEAN place with character in the outskirts or close to major roads with parking?

I know you don't want a hotel downtown, BUT it's really not that hard to drive and stay in downtown Milan. We drove to Milan last October. We parked in a parking garage on the outskirts of town. It wasn't that expensive. It's in Rick's book and is right off the main highway, the A something or another, I can't remember the number. The Metro is right there at the parking garage. We took the Metro into the center of town. We stayed in the Hotel Duca di York. We had a corner room and really liked the hotel. It was close to the Duomo and Galleria and handy to tram stops.
