Any suggestions for a hotel in Lucca? We will be there for one night in late April. I noticed that there is a RS tour to Italy and they stop there for a couple of nights. Anybody know where they typically stay? Thanks.

I don't know where the RS groups stay, but we really enjoyed La Romea B&B. Ask for the Red Room.
It's pretty close to the center of the walled town.

If you want a hotel inside the city walls, try Piccolo Hotel Puccini. It's opposite the house where Puccini was born. It's too small for a large tour group to stay in.

Our favorite was La Luna
recommended by RS and highly rated by Tripadvisor
Don't know if RS has ever used it for tours.

Took the Village Italy last June and we stayed 2 nights in Lucca at La Luna, very well located within the city walls.

We were on the RS Village Italy tour in April,2008 and stayed at La Luna. Location was great! Some rooms were small, but we weren't in them very much, I would definitely stay there again!
