Hotel in Florence near train station

Try a website called.....cross-pollinate. It's run by an american couple living in Rome. They run a B&B and apartment service. They have places in rome, florence and venice. i have used them many times and you can't go wrong!! The prices are very reasonable.

As a retired couple, being near the train station was also one of our criteria. We stayed at the Hotel Basilea. It's about 5 blocks from the train station. Our rate was 114 Euro a night for two of us with Rick Steve's book. We saw a few children but not many. The rooms are nice and there is A/C.
