Hotel in Bologna?

I am traveling by my self to Bologna in late March and am looking for suggestions for a good place to stay in the city center that is pretty quiet and moderately priced...up to $125.00? Any suggestions would be helpful?

So that's 95 euros. The thing to know about Bologna is that they have all sorts of trade fairs and conventions, and the prices vary greatly accordingly. We stayed at Albergo delle Draperie and were pleased enough with it. Great location. Photos from our trip to Bologna in May 2008, if you're interested.

On our first visit we stayed at the Hotel Paradise, halfway between the railway station and Piazza Maggiore. Really friendly and helpful staff and reasonable prices. Nice atmosphere which you may find welcome because you are traveling on your own. http://www.hotelparadisebologna.it/index.php?template=Default&lang=eng However, as Michael said, prices rise considerably when the trade fairs are on. This link will show you the latest info on fair dates and if you can be flexible with dates you will get a better price and, more importantly, somewhere decent to stay! http://www.bolognafiere.it/en/calendario/ On our subsequent visit (2011) we self catered (as we will be doing again during our upcoming visit in April) so cannot comment on other hotels.

I can also recommend Hotel Paradise. However I seem to be in the minority of not being a big fan of Bologna. We were there last year on our sixth visit to Italy and while it was okay for us Italy has so many more special places.
