I am considering staying at FrancaMaria (Famliy of 4) at the beginning of September. I can't seem to find any current reviews. Has anyone stayed there within the last year? http://www.francamaria.com/vernazza1.html I'm hoping for good reviews of the host, location (noise?) Any other rental suggestions? We want to stay in town. We will not have a car. Thank you!!

Not real current but we rented rooms from Francamarias in July 2009 when I was here on a girls trip with my sisters & niece. They were very nice then and I am sure they are now too. She had referred to the Rooms with numbers then and I see now she has given them names. We had the " Cessa Doia" which has a window looking onto the piazza which we loved and "portu de mava" which is close by but no piazza view. The room "stra der mo via guidoni 2" and the "Cessa Doia" can be rented together and are adjoined by a door. Unfortunately, both of those rms were not available when we stayed here. The rooms were clean, had fine bathrooms & the location couldn't be beat. I also see on her website she had the Italian president stay there in last several yrs. You will hear the church bells ringing but hard to avoid in a tiny place like Vernazza. Have been to the C.T. 4x in the last 14 yrs either in June/july with the most recent trip in Oct 2014. We have always stayed in Vernazza and there are lots of people daytripping in but the evenings here are lovely. It was amazing to see how Vernazza had recovered 3 yrs after the devastating flood of Oct 2011. Buon viaggio!
