hotel for female traveling solo in Venice

Hi, I'm going to be traveling by myself in Venice for the first time and am hoping for a hotel suggestion with a 24-hour front desk and hopefully a restaurant/bar, located near the Rialto Bridge. Also, I'd like to stay under €150. Thanks in advance!

I loved La Calcina. It faces the lagoon (vaporetto stop just meters away), in the Dorsoduro district. It's a historic building, 5 minute walk from the Academia bridge (ok, not so close to the Rialto Bridge, but closer to San Marco) and a quiet neighborhood. No bar, but they served drinks and coffee, etc., in the evenings in the cosy lounge.

I was there in high season and paid considerably less than €150 for a single room.

Hi Jill.

Casarezzonico

We loved it. Secured entrance, small and intimate. Our room was lovely, huge, big bathroom, nice breakfast to start the day. Quick walk to Rialto and San Marco. Inexpensive, but great value. The owners are native Venetians that provide impeccable hospitality. We will never stay anywhere else.

I travelled solo to Venice in OCtober 2009 and stayed at Hotel Tivoli. 35 Euros per night for a small single with bathroom right next door. I never saw, or heard, another soul in the hotel, except at breakfast. I loved it - my room faced a lovely courtyard and I felt very safe. Dorsoduro area, easy walk to both train station and San Marco. San Toma vaporetto stop is nearest.
