Hotel Eden, Sorrento

Just curious if anyone has stayed at the Hotel Eden in Sorrento. Would really like to hear feedback from this (trusted) site. I've checked others and it is all over the board. Seems people either loved it or hated it. I understand that everyone is looking for something different and that they have different priorities. I am looking for in town with great view under 200 euro. Not as easy as I thought it might be!

We are in Sorrento right now, our third trip here. I have never heard of Hotel Eden after much research to find a hotel we would like. Each trip here we stay at La Tonnarella because we really like it. It's in RS book. There are hundred's of hotels here, some good, some bad. I think it would be a safe bet to pick a hotel that RS recommends. La Tonnarella is on the cliff overlooking the Bay of Naples and the views are incredible. We pay 150 Euro's per night for a room w/o view and rooms with a balcony w/view are 165 appx, and rooms w/a terrace and view are 175. First time here we loved having a room w/a terrace and amazing view but sebsequent stays we've chosen this room w/no view only because we like the room itself better. It's much bigger and cooler than rooms w/view. This hotel is an easy 10 min walk to town. To have a hotel in town w/view it would have to be on the cliff..only a couple are good and they are expensive. I'm not saying you should stay here, I'm just giving you examples how the pricing works. I would recommend reading about all the hotels RS recommends and pick one of those. Hope this helps.

We just stayed at Settimo Cielo with a balcony(be sure to request), spectacular view and pool and it was great (see RS Book). By taking advantage of the cash discount it was 154 euros for three.
