Hotel Dali Florence

We are considering this hotel for a 3 night stay at end of June. There's no AC and though most reviews are positive, not much mention of no AC. Had anyone stayed here during summer? If so, were rooms very hot at night? Any other information or opinions would be appreciated. Thanks.

I am not familiar with that hotel, but I would not book a hotel without air conditioning in Florence for late June unless I was doing it just a day ahead of time and could see from the weather forecast that a cold front was moving in. It's not just sleeping at night that might be a problem: Florence bakes in the summer, and you may well want to take a break in the middle of the day in a nice, air conditioned hotel room.

Reason #2 for booking a hotel with air is that they have mosquitoes. We left a window open one pleasantly balmy late-May night and I was a mess of huge welts the next morning. My feet were so swollen I couldn't get my shoes on, and one eye swollen shut. I am sensitive to bites in the first place, and I guess it's not uncommon for reactions to be worse if your system isn't used to foreign mozzies.

They didn't chew on my husband much at all so maybe it's just a concern if they like you to begin with.

Thanks for both responses. Wasn't planning staying anywhere without AC, but just thought I'd ask before totally ruling it out. We've got a couple of other places in mind with AC. Thanks again.
