Also are looking through RS guidebook for Vernanza 3 nt-?, Pisa/Luca-1, Verona-2, Venice-2, Rome-3. Any recommendations? Thanks.
Renee, did you check Suore di Santa Elisabetta in Rome, Casa Selita B&B in Orvieto, Alma Domus in Siena and Hotel Santa Lucia in Venice? it sounds like these places are in your price range...After checking reviews I feel very comfortable with all the hotels. Hope this helps, Jo
When we are in Florence we always stay at Mario's Hotel on Via Faenza. It is located halfway between the SMN train station and the Mercato San Lorenzo. We have always been satisfied with the accommodation.
In Orvieto I spent 3 nights a few years ago in Hotel Corso and was happy with the place.
You might want to look at veneer.com or tripadvisor.com to find a property. Both sights provide prices, map locations, and client reviews.
Buon viaggio,

We stayed at La Magnolia and loved it. Big room, big bath, and super clean, and on the same street as the cathedral. Lots of restaurants nearby. Nice people run the place. Would stay there again. Easy to get to by bus/shuttle from the train station. If driving, get directions on how to arrive and park ahead of time.
Absolutely loved La Magnolia. Best bathroom of the trip with a frescoed ceiling. Serena is great and the location is perfect.
