Hotel - Civitavecchia

Does anyone have any recommendations for hotels in Civitavecchia for between 100 - 120 USD?

venere.com. You should start thinking in terms of euros and not dollars. Donna

Tried to address this question earlier when you asked it. There are a few hotels in Civit..... and little to do. There is no advantage to staying in Civit. Stay in Rome and caught the train. That is what most people do.

Raymond, do think you are going to have to bite the bullet (an American expresses dealing with pain) and pay the price to get a hotel room near Termini, enjoy the city and catch a convenient train to Civit.... in the morning. I understand the first time nervousness but it is really very easy to do. We have done it five times. When you exit the train station in Civit.... (it is elevated) you look to your right and you will your cruise ship. It is still about half mile walk to the port entrance but it is flat and along the beach. And you will have lots of company as steady stream of people will be headed in that direction. Just follow the crowd.

I agree with Frank. Enjoy an extra night in Rome.

Thanks everyone for the help. Frank, I'm was looking at my options and in the end I think staying in Rome and taking the train in sounds like the best one. Thanks again everyone.

Thanks Frank. This will be our 3rd time in Rome. We've stayed around the termini area and it's close to everything. We were hoping to stay in Civitavecchia this time. Last time we were there we elected to not go to on an excursion and just walk around Civitavecchia. We quite enjoyed that. I'm a photographer and I enjoyed the quiet more intimate atmosphere of the place. Being from the city we welcome quiet when on vacation and Civitavecchia was exactly that. We'll play safe and go with your recommendation and stay in Rome. We've still have a lot to see and do there anyway.
