Hotel choices in Baveno or Stresa

I apologize if I might of posted this question months ago but I am rethinking where to sleep on this leg of our 2022 trip. We will have a car, 4 nights and I know you will tell me to choose Stresa. So I researched prices at the Grand Hotel Bristol and am awaiting response from another Hotel Residenz.?? Porto. Bristol is a bit pricey for the lake view but am game if it is the recommendation here. Had originally chosen Hotel Rigoli in Baveno as it is right on the lake, sounded more quaint, family owned, reasonable resto on site. the gravelly terrace out front was a bit of a turn off but it has been suggested online more than once. Have prices for the Dino and Simplon as well. I don't need a gym, pool(September), etc. I have researched a myriad of other properties but these are the ones i always come back to.

We actually stayed at Hotel Rigoli, but it was quite a few years ago. They had some apartments as well as hotel rooms. We liked it just fine. We took a couple of dinners in the restaurant, and they were good.

I stayed here last time I went, Maybe 5 or 6 years ago (I don’t remember during previous trips)

Great hotel with pretty good restaurant too on the lake in front of the ferry pier. For parking guests’ cars they had an arrangement with a parking structure about 2 blocks away (5 min walk) at the hotel Regina (the Regina was way above my budget)

Many hotels line Corso Umberto, the main street that runs parallel with Lago Maggiore in Stresa. Most are luxurious. I stay in a modest family run hotel a little way from town. I like it because it’s not pretentious. You can check booking or TripAdvisor to look at explanations about the hotels. I stay in Stresa often.
Baveno is also nice but I haven’t stayed overnight. The brick promenade along the lake is lovely and a couple of bars are along the lake with a nice view.
Good luck finding something.

Thanks. Well, I have time to narrow down my options...Hotel Rigoli in Baveno or Hotel Residence Nun del Porta(?) in Stresa. Those larger hotels like the Dino and Bristol look fabulous but I think I am going for the smaller atmosphere family run but good quality places.
