I stayed at Valentina Bed and Breakfast, and it was fairly nice. I'm not sure how many people can fit into all of her rooms, but I believe that there are also appartments available.

In 2006 we stayed at the Hotel Duomo in Orvieto. Great - just behind the Church and close to everything. It is very central and does offer parking near the hotel- you can drive there and leave off your luggage. This hotel is very clean and offered a good breakfast. I would recommend it. hotelduomo@tiscalinet.it I am just starting to research our next trip to Italy and will probably stay there for a night before catching the train to Rome, also Hotel Corso is a consideration as well, close to parking which they offer.

Hi Deb,
I stayed at hotel Casci with husband and 2 older kids at he time. What specifically would you like to know. We had a car at the time-- bad idea in florence.we parked it for 3 days quite a ways away and for a significant amt of money although cannot remember how much.
The hotel itself was very nice for us. We do not require many amenities. The room for 4 was very spacious, comfortable and very clean. the breakfast was wonderful. More substantial than the frequent pastry and coffee.
They had various pastries, toast, juices, yougurts, granola, fresh fruit and hard or soft cooked eggs. and of course delicious coffee. It was in a building where the composer Giacomo Rossini lived. there is a plaque on the outside wall.
The ceiling of the dining room was frescoed. It was very convenient to everything.

In Orvieto we really liked La Magnolia (info@bblamagnolia.it)last summer. Perfect location for the boys. Right near the Cathedral & farmers market too. Quiet rooms but right by everything. Serena has a great little apartment with an adjoining triple room, shared foyer. We paid 60 euros for two. You want the rooms in the back with the frescoed ceilings and burnished wood floors. Best bathroom and shower of the trip. She didn't require a deposit either which made it simpler.
